Recently, the disaster prevention and shelter pod has been officially put into use, adding a "mobile safety barrier" for residents in the jurisdiction. Covering an area of approximately 8 square meters, this shelter pod can accommodate 10 people for emergency refuge. It is equipped with essential supplies such as emergency lighting, first-aid kits, drinking water, and compressed food. Additionally, it is fitted with a carbon monoxide alarm and a ventilation system, capable of providing basic survival support for 72 hours in the event of disasters like earthquakes and fires.
Community staff members stated that the shelter pod is located in an open area of the community's central square, with no tall buildings blocking the surrounding area, allowing residents to reach it quickly. In the future, the community will also organize disaster prevention knowledge lectures and shelter pod usage drills to enhance residents' emergency refuge capabilities. "With this 'safety house', I feel much more secure," said Ms. Wang, a resident.
The commissioning of this shelter pod marks a crucial measure for the community to improve its disaster prevention and mitigation system, laying a solid foundation for grassroots emergency rescue work.
